I'd call your local fire department just in case they can help you. I happen to know that here they won't remove them for you at all though. I have to pay Truly Nolen $200-300 for bee removals.

Reagan once observed that government treated business in the following manner:
If it moves, tax it.
If it continues moving, regulate it.
If it stops moving, subsidize it.
Therefore, I suggest you claim the bees in question migrated from Mexico due to NAFTA regulations which destroyed the Mexican honey industry. You are simply an innocent, unintentional victim of an international trade agreement that has illegally usurped your right to a bee-free environment.
Additionally, the plight of the bees is grounds for an abuse to insects lawsuit. If animals can be defended by PETA, there must be some organization to speak up for the bees that cannot speak for themselves.
You have a very strong case. This should make you a millionaire, and possibly get you on all the talk shows. You have been very brave in the face of governmental abuse of power. Barbara Walters will probably want to interview you. Please bring your own Kleenex, though. Network programs are getting killed by cable.

I don't know about being an omen, but you should be aware that they are very territorial. Having a hive in your house would mean you would have to be very careful about mowing and just being outside in general. If you have children this could be almost a form of abuse if someone knew about the bee's and your children being exposed to the potential harm. Look in the Yellow Pages for a Bee Keeper. He may have to take off some of the exterior of the house to get them, but I think it would be better now than later.

If it's honeybees and they're living there, call any local beekeepers and they're happy to take it for free for you. If it's a hive, and you're zoned for agricultural, the bees have a right to be there, they're livestock. You can also try your local ag extension folks, and they can often put you in touch with local beekeepers who are happy to take care of it for you.
If it's a hive, and you know the beekeeper, tell him/her what the problem is and usually the beekeeper is more than happy to either move the hive or deal with your concerns.
Generally, remember that honeybees and bumbles, for that matter, are happy to leave you alone and, nationwide, we have a real shortage of bees and beekeepers, given the mite problem and all.

1st of all, the chances that you are going to find a gov't program to remove it for free is almost impossible. Secondly, if they are honey bees, and they aren't bugging you, why would you remove them, buy if you want to I understand b/c i hate bees. If I were you, I would call around for a bee keeper to come and remove them, b/c from what I know about them, they are the best around (I used to work @ a honey farm where they always asked that question)

Why would the government have a program for controlling your bees? You can always try your City Manager to see if they can suggest anyone, but you are almost certainly going to have to pay for it yourself, cheapo :)

I don't think that there is one funded by the government, nor should there be one. It is like any pests found in/around ones home and/or property, it is the homeowners responsibility.
You can checkout this site http://williethebeeman.com/id129.html
Hope this helps.
