my aunt doesn't like me talking to this guy on messenger. pros and cons to inernet chat would be helpful. i'm responsible and don't talk about really personal things. he doesn't even know me by my real name. just this one. is it bad that i talk to him? i know him through my sister. he showed up on my contact list so i sent him a message and we talk all the time now. is this bad? my aunt says it's unecessary.

As long as this chat doesn't affect your personal life or if you are a student, if it doesn't affect you studies than it is fine to chat.
I think chatting with someone you don't know is very important, you know more about their culture. I came all the way to UK to study and to have exposure to foreign education and to meet people from different parts of the world and know their culture. But I make sure that I don't waste time just chatting with them. Studies for me are more important to me than anything else.
So I would recommend don't waste time chatting, if you have some other stuffs to do, do that instead of chatting. Sittiing in front of the computer for long hours is very bad for health. Take at least 10mins break after each session of an hour.

i exploit msn and have been doing so for particularly some years. final night even although-out of curiousity- I downloaded yahoo messenger, i like it! a lot greater a snicker than msn- for now besides, i'm going to in all hazard grow to be bored of it too =P
