i want to know the power of it and what can be use to split it.

well, there's a couple ways.

and it depends on what you wanna see.
if you just want to split an atom into a small nucleus, then you'd need to smash it with a neutron as in a fission reactor.

if you want to further smash the individual protons, electrons, and neutrons in the nucleus, then you need a particle accelerator. i explain below:

the most effecient way to split an atom is to put it into an accelerator and get it up to speeds that near the speed of light (300,000 meters per second). you then take it and slam it into another particle, thus shattering the particles, and from there they progress into a "bubble chamber" where different subatomic particles leave different kinds of trails and move in different ways. scientists can then observe particles and whatnot.

as for the power of an atom when it splits, the energy released is enormous. this energy is what powers nuclear reactors and nuclear weapons.

i think theyre running atom splitters on sale down at home depot this week if i remember right i think its a buy one get one free sale so you better hurry!! you may need a coupon ..you should call them first and find out
