because we are a society obsessed with one-upmanship, we easily fall prey to endeavors in which we compete with others, just so we can garner points.
Doesn't matter that the points are worthless.
So
what are the points for?
they're for Yahoo, actually. People come in here and gain a sense of importance from an imaginary point system that offers no real reward, and Yahoo gets an ever-larger audience.
