For the American League, I would have to say Boston closer Jonathan Papelbon. People say he was good but I never thought he be this great right now, with a ridiculous ERA and leading the AL in Saves while playing in baseball "pressure cooker" (as I like to call it). Bobby Jenks is heating up, Francisco Liriano, Justin Verlander, and Jered Weaver looks like true aces in the making but it has to be Papelbon in the end.

The NL is pretty deep this year with rookie performance from Prince Fielder, Josh Willingham, among others, but I would have to give the NL ROTY to Florida 2B Dan Uggla. He just came out of nowhere and start producing ridiculous numbers on a struggling team that features future stars such as Mike Jacobs, Willingham, Hanley Ramirez and Jeremy Hermida, as well as playing w/ Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis. Can't you even believe that he almost didn't even get the job if it wasn't for Pokey Resse retiring? Now that's overcoming all odds and becoming a future star.

The Best Rookie Player....

I can not name any other rookies then those of The Angels and the Dodgers because that is all the LA papers talk about.......

Most other teams unless they are playing the Angels Or dodgers get less then a paragraph and most of the time do not say who is a rookie or not.........

So I will say Mark Napoli Of the Angels
And Andre Ethier of the Dodgers......

I think that Jon Lester of the Boston Red Sox is going to win rookie of the year because he is pitching great and if he continues this way he will probably stay at the major league level.

AL has got to be Papelbon - he's still technically a rookie by MLB's definition, and right now he would probably win the Cy Young as well.

NL is a little tougher...Right now Dan Uggla (Marlins 2B) is sure making a good case for himself (SLG of .532!).

For the league its still to early to say. However, for my favorite team the LA DODGERS (the real la). It has to be Russel Martin. He stole the job away from Navarro and when hes back behind the plate he looks like he is a veteran catcher. GO Russel!

It will be a toss up between Justin Verlander (see Hatrick) and Joel Zumaya

Justin Verlander! He has a low era, he gets k`s, and he is on a good team so he will get a lot of wins.
