Sex did not begin in America; it began before humans even evolved into modern man as a means of procreation. Americans have sex for the same reason as anyone else does: procreation, recreation, etc...

I'm not sure if Adam and Eve were in America, but that is what started sex. Then, sex carried to America when the colonists settled, because they needed children and wanted children.
