Flooring and counter tops are 3 months out. My contractor has to travel 300 miles to get supplies. That adds to the cost. Who can show what they have in stock and not jack the prices up?

Im not surprised... even as far north as Missouri, Ive seen the cost of "Romex" 12/3 electrical wire jump from $25/250 ft roll to over $100, and there is a limit on how many you can purchase...that's just since Katrina. Everybody is short on building supplies right now.

You might (might) be able to find a manufacturer of countertops, who can get the materiels needed to make them, faster than you can get stock cabinets....but if too many people have already thought of that... then any manufacturer is going to have a waiting list too...

Good Luck!

isn't is illegal to do price-gouging ? i'm not sure who you are speaking of specifically (Depot / OSH) but file a complaint or something. Order stuff online at depot ......or buy from other sources online....driving 300 miles is ridiculous and i find it hard to believe.
