If they love each other, why shouldnt they? If two gay people who would totally honor marriage like it was meant to, shouldn't they be able to? Why is it that a man and a woman can totally defile the purpose of marriage by making it some TV thing (who wants to marry a millionaire... or whatever), but two same sex people with a genuine commitment can't?

Answer to McFly:

Ya mind coming up with some real and logical why you think that, or are you purely motivated by ignorance? have you ever actually sat down with a gay couple and bothered to understand them?

Answer to Blondie:

Spoken to God directly lately have ya? Whats his number... I'd love to ask him myself.

YES YES YES
This is supposed to be a free country. Who cares who sleeps with who. It wont hurt anything. (though it might reduce the amount we have to pay for insurance because that will be more couples paying into it.) If you are anti -gay.... tough. Gay couples will be together whether you let them get married or not. Stupid people say it would take away the value of marriage....So does gay people having sex take away the pleasure of sex? Obviously not. Who does or doesnt get married has no effect on anybody else.
Through-out history is seems like we should have learned our lesson...we have oppressed blacks, and women. We have denied rights to non-christians, Japanese, the dis-abled and any non-white-male-americans. Just to realize later we were wrong.
So, conclusion.....let gay people get married!!!!!

NO, If they are brought up christian then they need to live a christian life. If GOD wanted man with a man then he would have created Adam And Steve rather than Adam and Eve. I think that people in our society have let go of the core values that use to be marriage between a man and a woman. Homosexuality is a disgrace and it is shameful that people are trying to force their bedroom ethics into today's society. I think that it also has to do with a way a person is brought up and the lack of parental guidance. A person is not born gay. Your controlled by your wants and feelings and acceptance by the people around you. Like anything else it is wrong and because we have a lot of people practicing a gay life style people generally get mislead into joining this type of life style. It is WRONG what next?? Animals with humans??? We need to think of where and how society is going. What next???

As an older Gay female, I think that marriage as it stands should be between a man and one or more women.

However I do feel that anyone should be able to Life Partner, with right of survival, medical shared and children brought up together when agreed upon.

Our constitution says we have the right to pursue happiness, and my definition may be different than yours as to what constitutes happiness.

Absolutely! I believe that the conservatives that push the 'one of each gender' are mixing their religion into the laws of the states. Last I checked, there was supposed to be no government mandated religion and a separation of church and state (govenment). I believe that one of the big reasons it's met so much resistance (outside of religious narrow-mindedness) is because the medical insurance companies would have to extend benefits to partners like they do conventional families now.

Why shouldnt they? I personally dont see what the big deal is. This issue is similar to years ago when people of different races started dating and getting married. Love is love. Regardless of race, gender, nationality, etc. etc. There are bigger things to fight for/against.

Definitely. They CANNOT choose who they love and if they fall in love with a member of the same sex WHY should they be treated any differently? That's like saying if you are a teacher you can't marry a lawyer.

Yes, and it should be just as difficult to get out of as a traditional marriage between a man and a woman.

Heck yeah. This is about rights of individual families, not religious rules or prohibitions. Separation of church and state, right?
