I believe in them. They taste good. I usually don't even get fortunes, though- I get proverb cookies. I do, however, always add the words "in bed" to the end of them. They wind up being much more true to life that way, although I have yet to "enter into a group ritual" in such a manner, as my favorite cookie of all time predicted.

Usually they are either so lame and don't at all apply to anything in my life or so ambiguous that they could mean anything. I don't like the taste of fortune cookies, either. I do like the fortunes, though, even though they usually don't make much sense. I've also always heard that the fortune doesn't come true unless you eat the cookie it came in. Anyone else ever heard this?

If you get the cookie and no fortune are you A) extremely lucky, B) headed for disaster, or C) missing a piece of paper from a cheap cookie after eating some crappy chinese food? My vote: C

Well I believe that fortune cookies EXIST but I think the fortunes inside them are more for entertainment purposes, the one that I found most accurate so far was "You like Chinese food!" and it was true! I do!
I've also seen one that said "Help! I am being held hostage in a Fortune Cookie Factory!" and I hope that I never see one that says "You just ate a cat!"

Hopefully nobody, as they were invented not so long ago in San Francisco, at Mee Mee Bakery (or others bakeries, depending on who you believe) as a way to increase sales. There is no "ancient Chinese secret" to fortune cookies. These babies were made right here in the USA.

Once I got a fortune cookie and when I cracked it open it said "you love Chinese food" Which is completely untrue, I was only there because it was my mothers birthday. So, in conclusion, I don't believe in fortune cookies.

I do but only if you add in bed to the end of whatever they say. Or my Aunt Beverly says ON THE TOILET at the end of hers. They're much more fun and believable. Seriously they are mostly just common sense statements anyway.
