Black just seems cooler.
And you can hook your ipod to somebody else's iTunes and borrow their songs if you want.

Get the white one. The cases on the black iPods scratch real easily (meaning, it shows the scratches). With the white iPod, the scratches blend in with the product.

iPods are overrated. I would get a true mp3 player that does not require you to use iTunes to download songs and most importantly lets you share your songs with other users.
