there is a life after death

The answer is there is no life after death.

Life as you know it does not continue. However is there another reality after death, who knows; but the life as you know it today will not be remembered, your memories are gone because the vessel (your brain, your biological computer) can't go with you; the hard drive is erased, the memory is gone.

Perhaps the process of our atoms achieving sentience is pre-ordained; we could return to the state from which we came, where we didn't need these vessels to experience universe's space and time.

We could be sub-routines for a greater program... ;) So if you can prove that there is a way to upload your memories or the essence of your being before dying, then your memories and potentially the ability to perceive what happens after you die may be intact somewhere.

Remember, without your life experiences to which to compare your new afterlife experience, there is no frame of reference.

Think about a new born, most of us can't remember crap before 2 years of age, it's because we had not learned how to remember because we didn't know the name of things, how they looked, etc.; we simply didn't know how to build a directory yet for retrieval.

I know many of you don't want to hear that, so enjoy the life you have now, it's a short one.

I definitely believe in it. I honestly believe that if God is just, he gives every souls a chance to learn to become a better person by learning from their own mistakes. Spiritual developement is a long process, that takes up several lifetimes. If you make a sin, obviously you are respobsible for it. This is why you get a Karma, or in other words, a task to resolve your problems in a certain way. If God were unjust, he wouldn't give you a chance to improve spiritually, which is not the case, as for he does give you a chance. For me it's quite difficult to imagine that this is the only life I have. I'm sure you have also experienced the state of Deja Vu before. It is when you go to a place, or experience a situation and feel as if you have already experienced a similar situation before, or have already been here before. Why do you think you feel this? If you yould only have one life, you probably wouldn't experience this, right? Or how do you explain it when young children begin to speak foreign languages, words they haven't heard before? Or people who are borh with unexplainable talents. Such things cannot be explained simply with the terminologies of science, with "genes". Your talent is related to a previous incarnation of yours, when you developed a strong passion towards something, and carried your knowledge, and passion onwards into your next life. How do you explain hypnosis? Some people begin to speak other languages in this condition that they haven't heard of before, or talk about such places that they haven't yet heard of, only later on does it turn out that the place and the way they describe in in hypnosis really exists. It is becasue they have already been there, in one of their previous lives. Do you believe in it?

It isn't as cramped as you would think.
It turns out that nobody went to heaven until 2000 years ago, when Jesus finally provided the way.
Everyone that died before him was S.O.L.

And even in the last 2000 years, they only take the ones that follow the rules strictly, so that eliminates most haters and zealots and sinners right there.

As for those numbers above, there may be that many angels, but as far as men getting into heaven, IIRC it is more along the lines of 144,000.

It take faith to believe in life after death, because no one knows for sure what come after death. Now there are those people that say that they have died and have come back from the dead.
I personally believe in life after death where you go well the bible tells heaven or hell.
But no one really knows, but there is more life than what meets the eyes.

Revelation 5:11-14

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, [be] unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four [and] twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

"and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands"

10,000 x 10,000 = 100,000,000

Now add the zeros of this figure (and thousands of thousands) to that number...

1,000 x 1000 = 1,000,000

Taking the six zeros and adding them to 100,000,000, you get: 100,000,000,000,000

And that's is just the population of the angels...

Depending on the interpretation of (and thousands of thousands), the number could be bigger than 100,000,000,000,000; it could be 100,000,000,000,000,000,000!

Not enough SPACE?

The celestial heaven itself is over 15,000,000,000 light years long!

After leaving this earthly life, we become pure spirit, without the weight of our physical bodies. As pure spirit, we no longer take up time and space, both of which are dimensions only of this earthly reality. In that great AfterLife, all is limitless.

"One attains the human form of life after transmigrating through 8,400,000 species by the process of gradual evolution. that human life is spoiled for those conceited fools who do not take shelter of the lotus feet of Govinda (Supreme Personality of God)".
