Yes. If you are not where you are supposed to be at the exact moment you're supposed to be there, you're late. If you have to clock in or your computer is monitored, the supervisor knows instantly. Do it more than once without a dire emergency like a car wreck on the way to work, and your employer is within his rights to write you up for habitual lateness. Upshot: get up earlier, take an earlier bus or train, learn that work is work and not play. Be there on time. It shows you're reliable and responsible.

Depends on the employer, if you work for a good company and your bosses are good caring people then past 15 min would be late.
If your employers are mean assholes then 1 min would be late.
I personally don't like working for assholes who are so punctual on the minute and give you no leeway in case of travel delays or personal matters.

yes. I used to have a job in a call center where you would have to log in every morning @ 8am. if you logged in at 8:01, you were late and had it marked on your record. a**holes. depends though. sometimes employers don't really care so long as you're there for an 8 hour day. come in late leave a little late sort of thing. but most are, wouldn't say sticklers, pretty observant about your timeliness.

If your employer habitually knocked a few pounds or dollars off your paycheck, would you consider that unfair? If you expect your whole paycheck, why would you consider it unreasonable for your boss to think you should be there for all the time you are paid to be?
I'm going to bet you are English.

Once every six months if you are 1/2 hour to 1 hour late O.K.
Once every month if you are 1/2 hour late O.K.
Once every week if you are 15 minutes late O.K.
Every day if you are an hour late O.K.
You are probably out looking for another job anyway!

I always thought that jobs dont start paying you until 6 minutes in. My boss is an asshole and if i am 1 min late will yell infront of everyone. Yet my times are 7-2:30 and i stay everyday until 3.... my work is NEVER late, messed up, or missing to tell me "sign in at 7:08 since you were late" its bullshit.
