That's most likely up to J.D. Closser. The biggest knock on him was his defense, but now that it has improved along with his hitting, I think it's only a matter of time. Danny Ardoin is a very good defensive catcher, but he's 32 and his bat will not improve much more. Yorvit Torrealba is a good backup catcher, but is unproven fulltime. If J.D. can prove that he can hit at the Major League level and continue to improve on calling a game, I think he will be the fulltime catcher by 2007.

I've never heard of him, but seeing the Rockies record since they've been a team, they need all the help they can get.
