I married for love 23+ years ago. I'd dated both rich and poor man....my experience? As I told my parents, I'd rather marry a poor man who loves me than a rich man who beats me up or cheats on me.

I think everyone marries primarily for love. Convenience, money, stability may have been reasons in the distant past. Women no longer have to rely on men to be the sole source of income for the family.
Consider marrying someone who has the finances to support you and shows stability. I bet you could not marry that person unless you felt love, first and foremonst.

Marriage is rarely convenient...I think fewer marry for money/stability than just to simply not be alone. There are a lot of lonely people in the world who don't realize that alone and lonely are not the same. You can be in a relationship and be lonely, but they have the idea that a spouse/partner will make their life complete. But of course many still marry for love...the downside is that in our disposable society, when the love cools the marriage is often discarded.

I married for love and i am so glad i did. The only reason people should get married is for love and commitment and devotion. Money is not a good reason because it comes and goes and so does the stuff that it buys.
