I have my own laptop and I have the Admin account. My bro's a computer wizzy and I let him set our wireless network. I want my own privacy and set up a password for my account, however I catch him in my Admin space all the time... Is there some kind of trick he could be using to get into my Admin space, because I've changed my password in the past. please let me know if there's something he might be doing to get into my admin space cuz I want him out!

I'm the only one that has an Admin account. and as for tools he has none. because he just sits, gets the laptop and I don't know what he does but he gets in. Is there any other kind of password or code that maybe he has set up to be accesing through the main account page? also how do I set up or check a firewall?

ok so the files are not being shared. My account's the only Admin. And he's not accessing it through his pc, he just gets my laptop and I'm thinking it's protected becasue of the password but then just like that he's in. I don't mind that he uses my laptop, I mind that he uses my account.

Try going to control panel, and pulling up the "user accounts" file. Here you'll find all the current account types on your machine. It could be there's more than oune account set up with administrator privaleges. If there are, you may B able to alter the other admin account and downgrade it to a "limited access" guest account.
If there IS another admin and it's password protected, you may not be able to get into it, or alter it. Having never been set up w/multiple admins, I could'nt say for SURE. If so, I'd just ask yer bro for the password and then alter the account to a limited one.
If this don't work, you may check into the "sharing" status of your computer's files. From the C: drive, down to individual files, you can right clck, on "properties" There, click on the "sharing" tab. In the top half of this box, you'll see "local sharing and security" put a check mark in the "make this folder private" box, hit apply and "ok." This SHOULD do the trick.
If yer wireless setup is as a LAN, or intranet, it may not be possible to keep him entirely out of your system without re-doing the whole config. Steps above WILL keep him out of your private files, and from being able to change your computer's settings by remote though.

Don't let him near the machine. It's very easy to crack the admin password if you have the right tools and physical access to the machine. Alternatively, maybe you're just using easily guessable passwords; in that case he could access it from anywhere on the planet if it's on the internet.

There are three considerations in securing a computer:

1. Physical security. Keep it locked up!
2. Network security. Firewalls and encrypted wireless.
3. Logical security. Strong passwords, changed frequently.

Just change his account settings, to limited then he won't have the admin privilege to access ather accounts thru his accnt.

let me know if that doesn't help, or need more details

i think this is what he is doing:

he starts the pc in safe mode, logs on as administrator ( a special account only available in safe mode to fix ur pc) and then he removes the password to ur account from there .

To stop this problem, go up to him and tell him to stop.
If he doesnt, go up to him and slap him accross the face.
Hard.
