hmm well the best way to know is talk to the guy tell him what you feel

Either ask him directly or forget it completely and take up a new hobby.
Seriously, either do the direct thing or not at all. Don't think you can do it by "stealth" means (hints, gathering intel, observing, etc.). It is always unsatisfying. You will never be happy.
Either ask him or try rock climbing or haiku.

i think u should flirt with him talk to him and see if he is dropping any hints that he likes you or if he flirts back that is a good sign (unless he is a flirt this could work) also if u have a dance or carnival or sumtin going on drop hints that u dont have a date or that u could take him and also im and email him becoming friends first before dating works to! good luck!!

u shuld honestly try to find out like ask him or tell one of ur good friends to ask hi n find out for ou becuz you neva kno if he likes you and if u dunt do sumthin about finding out if he likes you and its 2late and he has a g/f everyday youll be thinkin wat if?
