As has been said, manifest destiny is the belief that the USA should be the righful owner of all of North America. Who still believes it? Well, in Canada we are taught about it a lot in class, and I think that most Canadians and Mexicans try to remain aware of the idea because it reminds us about the truth of some of the concepts on which the USA was founded. It reminds us to be on guard and diligent...
But practically speaking it doesn't exist anymore. The USA has realised that there are easier ways to found an empire...

Manifest Destiny was the belief that the United States had a mission to expand, spreading its form of democracy and freedom. For example annexing Mexico to the US would be a manifest destiny. But manifest destiny idea is dead because US cannot annex Mexico or Canada; or any other territorial landmass except for its commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Midway, Samoa Islands and other tiny island in the Pacific

This was the theory that we were justified in expanding our country from coast to coast. Unfortunately it didn't take in consideration the welfare of native Americans or the earlier settlements of other Europeans. But this was the thing that made us the great powerful nation that we became.
