I would say the Dells. There's enough to do with the downtown area, water parks, casino, hiking, water tours, and so on. If you don't want to hang out in town the entire time, you can go to the Circus World Museum, as someone else suggested, or you could go to Cave of the Mounds, House on the Rock (a full day if you're going to do that well), or Taliesin, Frank Lloyd Wright's place.
It's also just nice to drive around - the area is very pretty, and there are a lot of state parks in the area. The nicest is probably Devil's Lake, which is absolutely gorgeous.

The Dells is a fine family oriented experience and not too expensive. Devils Lake is a man-made lake and you can hike, rock climb, swim. Its really for "the get to know you better" kind of vacation. Bring the games and share the experience of a lifetime. Reconnect with your family.. like the Good Old Days

Well, in maryland, we refer to Rehoboth beach as the Gay and Lesbian beach. Not that it matters, but if you go with children, you would need to explain why daddy is huggin daddy and mommy is kissing mommy. But whatever.
