I think everyone has wondered the same thing. I never had a clue until I got a little into numerology. I know, you may be skeptical. Numerologically speaking, my life's purpose is to sacrifice to help others. At first, I was really ticked at this. I thought, what kind of purpose is THAT? What about me??? But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Looking back at my childhood, looking at recent years on my own, looking at my relationships... it is 100% dead on. My purpose is to learn that by giving all to help others I can feel good. It seems that every time I've tried to be selfish it backfires. Now knowing my life path number numerologically, I can begin to understand why things have been so hard for me, why it seems my life isn't really my own. Since finding this out I feel better about my life, and I feel better about being self-less. I feel like I am important and making a difference to other people. I feel like I make a difference. I'm not saying I'm some huge philanthropist or donate all my time to saving the planet, I mean in the small ways that I can in my way. What I mean is, I don't know what your life path number is, but maybe you should find out. And seriously consider it. If you aren't interested, consider my life path - being self-less. Sacrifice. Stop looking inward to what YOU could get out of your life, and look to others and see what you can do to help THEM. I find life is a little easier to deal with if you don't be TOO introspective. Also I don't know how old you are, but I didn't start to begin to understand all this until I was 25. So maybe it's something you'll grow into. Hope I helped!

Hmmm
There are two ways to answer this question, from a biological point of view “Why are we here?” the answer is ‘no reason, just because’. You are star dust, it is believed that the universe as we know it started about 14 billion years ago, the first stars lasted about 6 billion years then as they converted the hydrogen into heavier elements Carbon, Oxygen and all the others that make up your body, they were unable to keep the nuclear reactions going on inside and eventually blew themselves apart, in what we know as a Nova or Super Nova if it is a very large star. Those elements eventually re-condensed into our Sun, it’s planets (the earth) and millions of other stars. On earth the conditions were just right for life to arise and about 3.8 billion years ago it happened. For the next 3.2 billion years life pretty much stayed in unicellular form, about 600 million years ago something altered the ecology of earth and that prompted the massive evolutionary forces that eventually lead to us here today. There is no reason behind it simply matter interacting with itself.
From a philosophical point of view the answer could be as simple or as complicated as you’d like it to be. It is very difficult (although not impossible) to address Philosophical conversations without touching on mythological questions, that more than any other reason is why primitive people still believe in their religions.

Well to exclude religion is to exclude points of view that might be a little closer to the answer your looking for. But no one person can answer that question because we are all here for a different reason. To either add to the quality of this world, or take away from it. But in searching for the answer to that question, many people have accomplished many great things. So why are you here?

its not about religion!like there is really a giant man in the sky with a giant book telling us what to do!yeah right.when the universe was created all that energy had to go somewhere!?so it made all the things we know of today.you see energy never dies.it keeps going.it can change form but it keeps going.like this:(im telling in how the enrgy made on thing and how it effected the other....like a food chain):the big bang>gases>elements>water, fire>planets>bactiria>fish>dinosuar>mammal>monkey.you!

If we knew the meaning of life, I'm sure everyone would know, but since the same question comes up over 20000 times on here, we obviously don't know.

In a sense, each and every one of us determines why we are here. Eather we are here to do good, help others, better the world around us or we choose to live for ourselves, for the moment,to the detriment for the world around us.You get back what you put in.So if you are searching for your reason for being, look around you.See what things catch your attention.Do whatever you can to help those things to be better. And be passionate about the things you choose to do. I choose God.

Live everyday like it's your last and don't be afraid of anything, dont be self concious or afraid of what other people think of you and to take risks because youre here for a short time, and make the best out of it. :-)
