For example, a raped woman who had a previous back problem might have her back cracked back into place during a rape?
Or the emotional trauma might make her forget the pain of her divorce. Should the media report the good news?

Sure it should! The problem that the media has is that something that happens spontaneously is news, but if it happens slowly it isn't. I spoke with a US Diplomat about the stunning successes that Afganistan has experienced. Women are learning to read and go to school, the opium business has been devistated, they have had a number of free, successful and uneventful elections, and the list goes on. Why don't you see this on prime time???? Because it didn't spontaneously combust and no one died. Does that make it less news worthy?

Is the news only to report bad things (rape, pillage, murder, disaster???). The problem is that we as viewers view the news like a hollywood movie and are drawn in by the shock factor. The station with the most shocking news is what we tend to watch (e.g. look at the sneek peaks into the nightly news. They always make you think that the news that they'll report is much more extreme than it turns out to be.

Talk to half a dozen soilders who have BEEN in iraq. Ask them about what they see on the news and ask if it's an ACCURATE reflection of what they saw there day to day. 100% of the ones that I've talked to get angry because it's not even close. So, I'll ask you the question....Is only bad news worth reporting???

250,000 Iraqis have been murdered by the barbaric American troops since the 2003 invasion. Most of them are civilians, women and children. Therefore by the Bush administrations own 'standards' you have committed genocide. I don't know about you but I do not like to be partially responsible for such war crimes, whether 250,000 deaths is genocide or not, it is an unforgivable crime. As citizens in a "democratic, freedom loving" country you should take some responsibility for the actions of your elected barbaric governments.

The only "good news" that could logically follow a woman getting raped is her attacker being tortured to death. You are sick bastard!

trust me, you guyz only get the good news. you dont get the news of an american soldier murdering children and videotaping it just for the fun of it, u dont get news of americans shooting people as if they're hunting animals, u dont get news of soldiers abusing innocent prisoners just because they're arabs. you call arab terrorrist and that the great lord Bush is spreading democracy. well he's not, he's a bloody terrorrist who wants to suck the blood of humanity.
