It's so annoying, almost every time there is a goal-scoring opportunity, they raise the flag. What's the rule and is it a new rule?

it's for offside.

The flag is raised because that means that the forward is offside. It means that he/she has unfair advantage as they have overrun the defense. And no, its not a new rule. It's one of those annoying rules that just add to the game called football.

They raise the flag because the forward is offsides. Which means they are in front of the defenders.It is illegal.No it is not a new rule.

It's because offside.It's an old rule witch start after 1954 world cup
in order to support the deffence or the teams.

wouldnt it be more annoying to have one guy stand right beside the goalie the entire game waiting to receive the ball?


rules are there for a reason, just like goal tending in basketball

Offside, the foward is on an offside position, look it up, or better yet watch the last 10 minutes of the game Italy-czechs to get the hang of it! :)
