I mean really, does it really NEED to be that much. I was checking out some Nigerian Nollywood flicks, and ok granted theyr not the BEST in production terms, but you CAN put out a decent movie for a not so HUGE budget.
Exspecialy with the technology and resocurses thats comming out these days that make things so easy ..
Sometimes I look @ these small budget movies and they even cost MILLIONS, is that neccesary? Is someone being ripped off ?

It is true that you dont need a HUGE amount of money to make a money but a lot of bug time producers and actors would liek to make a lot of money. That is mainly the reason that they make movies...for money. Honestaly they dont actaully care about making movies that people would like.

It doesn't have to be expensive if you're very resourceful and don't pay hardly any money to your cast/crew. There's this indie film entitled "Cavite" that's just been released and has won a few festival awards and become a big sensation and it was made for under $7,000. So, this film proves that you don't have to spend an exorbitant amount of money to make a really good film.

Advertising is a huge cost. It can more than double a films cost, that is why i is said a movie needs to triple its cost to make a profit.

well because they need to pay for costume, hair and make up people, the actors and actresses, cameras and other equipments... and that all adds up to a lot... so yeah... i mean like in cheaper by the dozen 1, hilary duff got payed like almost a million bucks, and she basically had 1 line... so yeah...

because actors are all overpaid. tell me how ANYONE can justify making over $8 million just for ACTING IN A MOVIE!?!?!? LOL
