Go to www.freeplants.com . Tell me your opinion of this business proposal. Do you think you can make money ($60,000 a year +) doing this?

How hard is it to find reliable buyers for your plants? I've got 6 acres. Do I need more acres to turn a $60,000 a year profit?

Any opinion will be appreciated.

.No, You can turn a profit with one acre, I suggest that at first you Don't give up the day job...Sorry, bad joke..But really, one acre at a time expand as you get cash in, use it to expand the growing operation modestly. I have seen so many farmers fail, because they went in hole hog at the outset, mortgaged their butts off and then one rainy, or not rainy season did them in because they had no cash to fall back on.
The farmers do it this way, IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY CASH...YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE IT.
In Other words, Even if you don't use the cash, you get a loan instead, make sure you have the cash in the bank to be able to pay the loan, just in case Mother Nature Screws You! Been doing it for ever, I'll never be a millionaire, but I am debt free, and
tired but happy. Grow a good crop, then pack in the truck and drive, Get on line and advertize, sell it yourself to the public. The first 5 years are the worst, then you should have some steady clients!

I have been trying to start a backyard nursery and it has been hard. I know I can sell the plants once I have grown them, but trying to propagate them has been really hard. I have been trying to start many cuttings without much success. I don't have the money to get the "right" equipment to start them, so I have to try other things. If you have the money to buy many of the plants already rooted, then go for it.
