Yes- implantation can occur in the tubes and any other place other than the uterus, and is termed an ectopic pregnancy. A uterine pregnancy is the only place where it can survive. The egg can also implant in the ovary, abdomen, or the cervix.
As far as if one has a tubal ligation done, it is still possible to get pregnant as only total hysterectomy and abstinence are 100% effective. Having a tubal ligation done also makes you more susceptible to having an ectopic.

A tubal pregnancy ( type of ectopic pregnancy) occurs when the embryo attaches itself to the wall of the fallopian tubal This can lead to hemorrhage or death. If the tubes are tied properly, there should be virtually no chance of this because the egg cannot be fertilized to even start a pregnancy. Rarely, tubes have connected and unwanted pregnancies have occurred. Surgeons can mistakenly cut the round ligament so that the tubal ligation never was performed. Choose your doctors carefully. I hope this helped.

yes. i'm not going to write a book here. but you can have a tubal preg without having your tubes tied..they are not one in the same. this just means that as the egg was released into the tubes the egg was fertilized by the sperm there and in planted on the wall of the tubes and not the uterus. this is very dangerous and needs to be seen about...this preg if it happened can not go full term and has to be....well you know

If the tubes are tied the sperm can't get to the egg.
A tubal pregnancy is when a sperm impregnates an egg and they implant themself in th fallopiantube before getting to the uterous.
If tubes are tied there shouldn't be any pregnancy

Yes, absolutely. Nearly 100,000 ectopic pregnancies occur each year and that number has been steadily climbing since 1970 [http://wonder.cdc.gov/wonder/prevguid/m0031632/m0031632.asp#Table_1]. The good new is, the death-to-case ratio has gone way down.
While tubal ligation does increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy [and yes, you CAN get pregnant after a ligation - don't let anyone tell you otherwise!], one does not need to have had a ligation to have tubal pregnancy.
Good luck to you both.

From what I understand, if your tubes are tied you wouldn't get pregnant anyway. A tubal pregnancy is when the fertilized egg implants in the fallopian tube rather than the uterus, if I remember correctly from Sex Ed.

That is the only way you can have a tubal pregnancy. If the tubes are tied the sperm is unable to reach the egg....

Absolutely. What happens is the fetus does not travel through the tube, gets stuck right there. There is no way to help it along either.
