there is none! A torn meniscus is an injury to the cartilidge in the knee. I had the same injury about a year ago. I was told to take huge doses of glucosamine and chondroitin to rebuild it, but not a word about GM foods. I would agree that it is bad to eat genetically modified foods, but it has nothing to do with a knee injury.

hmmmm maybe there is something in GM foods that effects the regrowth of the cartilidge. I would love to know if there is!

Not a clue. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me. We have scads of patients that have torn various portions of joints, including the different menisci, and diet (other than losing weight in some cases) is never mentioned as part of the therapy. I'd say it's just a personal peccadillo of the doctor and hasn't got much to do with the injury.

There isn't one. The doc is a quack. GM foods are made of proteins, DNA, etc. Just like everything else. The protiens will get broken down into amino acids, the DNA into nucleic acids, and so on until the cells are ripped to shreds down to their basic components and you won't know whether they were GM or not. This guy doesn't know enough to be practicing medicine.

There is some belief that you can regenerate the Cartilage in the knee But I think your mom needs to go see an orthopedic surgeon and see if it is bad enough for removal. You can only change so much.

No relation.

Genetically modified food is very controversial and is banned in some countries.
