Hello, i'm reading Natalie Cole's autobiography "Angels on my Shoulder" -- and she's talking about her drug addiction problems, acid, herion and something she calls "window pane." I can find nothing about this anywhere! This would have taken place in the 1970's.

Anyone know what she is refering to? The drug? or what she means. Is it slang for something (like "angel dust" for PCP). Thanks.

LSD..acid..lysegic sans diathylamide.. in the form of tiny squares...it was clear..looked like window glass...hence the name. If it were green, it wouldn't be called "window pane".

it was not on paper. that was called "blotter" acid

how do I know? I grew up during that era. enough said.

It was the name for a type of LSD:
"Hallucinogens are drugs that bend your mind so that you may see and hear things that don't really exist, i.e. you have hallucinations. There are many drugs in this category, some extracted from plants, others manufactured in laboratories. This pamphlet will discuss 3 major hallucinogens: lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), psilocybin, and phencyclidine (PCP).
"LSD is the most powerful hallucinogen and has no taste, odor or colour. It is packaged in miniature powder pellets (microdots), gelatin chips (windowpane), or squares of LSD-soaked paper (blotter). LSD is usually taken orally, but also may be snorted or injected.

As a slang term for drug use it relates to the amount of cocaine, or occassionally methamphetamine, found in a single package. The weight of thaose packages is 1/8 of an ounce (where it would take "8" to make a "ball" or ounce). Because of the prevalent use during the 1970's-1980's, and stemming from sales in pool halls, the term "behind the 8-ball" was used to mean "being in a bad place", which some would say is definitely where users of cocaine are commonly found to be.

Windowpane. Think of it. 4 hits of LSD. I've taken it. **** had my world upside LITERALLY. Everything was upside down because I took a "windowpane" not realizing it was 4 hits in one Gel tab... There's a reason why it's called a windowpane. Get your **** straight. Talk to someone who enjoys this stuff.

For reasons I'd rather not get into I can tell you that Bobby (the third answer is right. It's usually green. And it has dividing lines impressed on it. Your supposed to break it into four pieces before you take it. OOPS!!!

Since the production of LSD is hardly what you would call regulated it is likely that more than one answer given here is correct.

Window pane is acid. It is a clearish color. It is usually taped to a piece of paper. you divide it into four little squares, four hits. The size of the pane is just less than 1 cm square. I am an experienced user. I am 62 years old. But just am a toker now.
