One thing you have to understand is that you are still technically a kid. There is plenty of pressure from the media, your peers, your friends, guys, that you look older and of course makeup helps, BUT... just think about this for a minute. Girls are pressured to grow up fast or look older fast, then they spend the rest of their life trying to set the clock back and looking younger. Please do not get caught in that trap. I never wore makeup until I was 19. Makeup is not good for your skin especially if you do not take it off properly.
By the way you are still a few years away from puberty and teen acne is not helped by using makeup. Save your face, if you must, use something start around age 15 and just a little mascara, a little eyeshadow, liner and lipstick in a nice discreet color. Plastering your face with the works does not help at that age at all, at any age actually.
I've seen young girls like 22 years old already with fine wrinkles around their eyes because they started young and felt really grown up.
Think about it, don't ruin your complexion. And when you do start using makeup (hopefully when you are older), go easy on the stuff.
Makeup is not going to make you older, time will take care of that.

OK, I'm 13 and I sometimes wear a mascara and almost allways a lipgloss. I don't think you're "young" as everybody else. I think that times when girls start wearing make-up is different from place to place. So, if more than half of your friends IS wearing make-up you do the same. If not, 11 isn't an age when you NEED to start. Have a nice day!

No.
My mom doesn't want me to wear makeup and I am 12. Just about a year older than you and I have only been 12 for less than a month.
Actually my Aunt thought I was wearing makeup when I came over to her house last weekend. So that gave me another reason not to wear makeup but every now and then I wear makeup with out my mom knowing. It is the kind that you can hardly tell.

i started wearing makeup when i was 11 and i caked it on. not a gr8 idea. lipbalm keeps your lips smooth but so do these moisturing lipstiks you get nowadays. neutral shades are best. if you get spots use a bit of concealer. use a bit of blush or light bronzer or really light foundation (mix foundation with moistuiser) for a bit of colour, but dont use all of these as young skin doesnt need it. i think young girls look pretty when they enhance their features, but not overdo it. how about a bit of mascara for the day, and when you go out, maybe eyeliner and a shimmery eyeshadow. but dont even bother with lipliner.......rarely looks natural on young girls. or maybe only wear a slick of eyeshadow to compliment your outfit.
always experiment though as when you get older it will come in handy. if makeup make you feel better then wear it. it is good to be taking pride of your appearance at a young age, no matter what some people might think. but definately dont overdo it and try to look way older.
ever since i was 11 i wore foundation concealer powder blusher eyeshadow eyeliner mascara lipstick lipliner..........TOO much .now im 18 i only wear eyliner mascara and if im goin out then bronzer.
good luck

I'm fourteen and i started wearing makeup when i was 13 so i would wait if i were you unless you have like acne then i guess its ok for you to use a little bit of cover up. When you do start wearing makeup though use only a little bit. Don't over-do it and dont wear it everyday.

NO you should not if you start to early at age but the time you are 20 you won't have no other choice but to wear make-up. Because you won't look right without it and then you get wrinkles earlier at age I was allowed to wear make up at any age and I chose not to because everyone one always thought I was older which I thought was cool but I then found out it's not I look too old and older men try to talk to me so I am 21 and I still don't wear make-up unless its for a party and I look my age without my make-up everyone thinks I am like 18 but I don't care cuz when I am 30 I will only look 27 or less! Trust me don't do it I have a friend who started out young and now looks not too good without make-up and look way too old and she is only 22!

the fact that you're interested in it and you're actually questioning whether or not you should shows that you're mature. but its not about being old enough to wear make-up. at any age, style (fashion, make-up, creativity, etc) should be something that empowers you, not something that enslaves you. wear lipgloss if it feels fun. not because you think it will make a boy like you or because all the cool girls are doing it. the way i still like to apply make-up (i'm 26 now) is so that i can tell i'm wearing it but to everyone else it looks natural. experiment! have fun! a basic tip is to start out pretty natural and only focus on one area of your face at a time. if you're going to wear mascara, stick to plain chapstick or a clear lipgloss. or, if you feel like trying a little pink or berry lipgloss, don't touch your eyes. less is more. check out the really awesome line of books by the american girl line. even if you're not into the whole american girl book/doll thing, their line of books on everything from body image to make-up to boys is really awesome. when you're a little older, check out a book by joan jacobs blumberg called "the body project". also, maybe consider experimenting with makeup at home or at a slumber party, but not wearing it to school every day. then when you get to dress up for a wedding or a dance or something, you will put on a little lipgloss and feel like a rock star!! kabam! good luck.. and don't forget that confidence in yourself, compassion, and creativity are what will make you uniquely you and uniquely beautiful.

You really need to know how your parents feel about you wearing makeup. If they say no, then maybe you could ask to wear something makeup-like such as tinted moisturizer with a sunscreen and clear lip gloss with sunscreen. If the answer is no, then don't wear anything till you get a green light from them.
If anything is fine with your parents, then start with things that are easy to use and wear like light colored eye shadow and light colored lip gloss.

I wouldn't worry about it yet. When you do decide to wear makeup just wear lipgloss and a little mascara, not a bunch. Your natural beauty is to be showcased, not covered up in a bunch of stuff. I didn't wear any until I was almost 14. I hardly wear any now that I am 33.

Make up is fun to wear but I think you are too young. A few things to think about;
When girls start wearing make-up it somehow steals their natural beauty from them. People get used to seeing you with make up and it becomes something that is unreal and it is not fun having to "do your face" before you see anyone or do anything.
another reason; it destroys your skin, it ages you. I know you are only 11 but there are many girls who are only"20" but years of make-up and tanning booths make their skin look leathery and wrinkly.
I think it is better to be yourself, and maybe when you are about 14 or so a little mascara or lip stuff would be good.
