Nixon was never impeached. He resigned before congress brought him to trial. His vice president, Gerald Ford took over just as the constitution directs.
The scandal involved around whether or not the president either ordered, or knew about the Republican party's attempt to spy on and discredit the Democratic party in the weeks leading up to the election. That and whether he attempted to cover up the illegal break in at the Watergate hotel.

Gerald Ford the vice president at the time took over. Nixon wasn't impeached, he resigned. Watergate was a hotel where the democratic party had an office. Audio tapes taken from the White House seemed to implicate Nixon in a break-in in the democratic office. Rather than face an impeachment hearing, Nixon chose to retire.

Here's the CORRECT answer...for starters, Nixon wasn't impeached; he resigned. Gerald Ford took over the Presidency after Nixon's resignation, and one of his first Presidential acts was to give Nixon a full and complete pardon for all Watergate-related wrongdoing.
Hope this info helped.

1) Nixon was not impeached. He resigned
2) The Vice President, Gerald Ford became President.
3) It's too complicated to explain the scandal here. Get the Movie
"All the Presidents Men" if you are too lazy to do any research.

It was my homeboy Gerald Ford.
Watergate was all about the President or someone in his party hiring a burgular to steal information on what the Democrats were going to use for their campaign. They got caught and during the investigation it was found that it appeared the President deleted/erased and spliced information on his answering machine. So he was charged with interfearing(sp) with a federal investigation among other things. I'm sure he was just protecting the people who were doing what they thought they should. He wasn't all bad. When he lost against Kennedy he gave up before all the ballots were counted, after the counting it was found that Nixon would have actually won. When asked why he didn't demand a recount and unconcede he said that he didn't want to put the people of this country through a situation where they weren't sure who their president was. I wish someone else hadn't done the opposite. We got to see how that feels. If anything, that's what divided us to the point where we are divided now. A lot of people like to blame Bush. I think it was Gore.

Nixon was never actually impeached. With impeachment imminent he resigned. Gerald Ford (The VP) took over, and then pardoned him for any crimes he might have committed.
