I would recommend to check out some magazines. But it depends on your eye color and also skin color.If you buy like cosmopolitan they have different kind of models, showing different skin colors and eye colors, It will also depends on what are you wearing. Do u know what I mean.. For example if you wear white, you could wear a light purple shadow, if you wear a pink outfit, pink shadow goes well with that! if you wear black, a sparkling soft silver shadow Will be nice. If you wear green, a pink shadow will match.. WELL this is just my opinion, and the way I wear my eye makeup
You might not like the colors I just mentioned..... this is just my prospective,
You could also go to a make up consultant, go to the mall, they often give you free examples, and free test you colors..
Just take my magazine advice, Believe me, They show good examples on models!

Almay has the best system I've found and if you don't like their products just find the colors elsewhere. It's all co-ordinated including shadow liner and mascara and if you go to the website just click on your eye color at the left and the products will come up. I use the eye liner for brown eyes and I get so many compliments. Check it out at:

Look at the new Almay line of eye enhancing colors and go off of that. They are great and you can carry it around the other makeup and get it cheaper by matching the shades from different cheaper lines.

You can go to any professional makeup counter or studio, and they will tell you the best colors to use and how to apply them. I've been to nearly all of them, and Trish McEvoy was the best. They can help you with an everyday look, or a more trendy and fun look for going out.

It depends on the color of your eyes, they have makeup now that is suited to your eye color. If you get that then just get the eyeshadow and off set it with a black eye liner.

From me........A Mary Kay Consultant...........always play up the color of your eyes. Don't try to match what color clothes you are wearing. Brown eyes look great in violet shades, blue eyes in brown hues, green eyes in golden colors. Go on my website and check out the virtual makeovers.

Go to covergirl.com you enter the information that matches your skin tone and it will tell you the colors that would look best on you. It's really good and it even gives techniques on how to apply it. You can't go wrong!!!!

go to MAC studio in macys { the makeup section} and they will find the best color to match whatever you want and whatever looks best on you!

go by the color of your eyes like if you have green eyes you should wear like bronzes, golds, purples and whatnot or you could match it to what you are wearing!
