Technically, the component the place New Jersey and NYC are closest is an island this is partly in each place, even though it has no motels, so as that doesn't help. Neither do places in NJ that are separated from NYC by potential of water till there's a bridge, tunnel, or ferry. If vacationing by potential of motor vehicle to midtown, the closet place is Weehawken. If vacationing by potential of course practice to midtown, the closest place is Hoboken. If vacationing to midtown by potential of familiar (Amtrak or NJ Transit) practice, the closest place is Newark. If going to decrease manhattan, the closest place is Jersey city.

The weatheridiots can't successfully forecast tomorrow's weather. How can they predict that "the big one" will hit NJ & NYC soon? This is media hype.
