i hadn't heard that a human broke the 3 minute mark yet so no i doubt it

No... no one has broke the 3 minute mark yet, and here is how fast they would have to run:
Each 400 meters in 30 seconds
which means
Each 200 in 15 seconds
which means
Each 100 in 7.5 seconds
The world record for the 100 meters for men is 9.77 seconds.
I do however think someone could break 3:00!
Also... Kiliewashere is right:
It is hard enough breaking 2:00 in the 800.

no, not that i would think. its hard for regualar runners to break the 2 minute in a half mile... but who knows.. Never say never!!!
