I took Psych as a major at college before transferring to business school, I didn't finish the Psych degree, but did get my business degree. The psych classes helps in the little things like examining the corporate/industry culture, behaviors of a company, individual, or groups of individuals, and markets. There is also so much pop psych in the business world that I absolutely bust my head off laughing at some of the posters and motivational tools that people have in their offices.
Really look at the types of careers that interest you and use that degree as a springboard. A warning, any career you choose will probably need more formal schooling than a B.S. in Psychology.

I agree with maczenwes. To practise the subject , you need at least a Masters degree but if u are not keen on that, you can look into other fields - there's lots of opportunities for Psyc.grads in careers that require good human relations for example human resource or marketing. Always have a plan before you leave college and actively search/start applying at least 3 months before graduating especially if you are interested in bigger corporations. I received my degree in Psychology three years ago and am currently working(and groomed) for diplomatic service. Worry not, just keep your eyes OPEN :)

Depends on whether you want to work as a clinician or you are looking to do something else. If you want to be a clinician, you need to keep going in your education - master's is the minimum unless you get a certification as a social worker.
There are other things to do with a Psych degree: marketing, human resources, educational programming, industrial design, business management, etc. They take various amounts of experience and additional education to be competitive in finding a job. What I DON'T recommend you do is leave school without plan of where you would like to go with your degree. You need to do the research to know what other classes or double major or minor you'll need to get in order to find the job you want.

Well, I graduated a month ago. I'm going to grad school for Forensic Psychology.
Grad school's your best bet if you actually want to do anything related to the mental health field. But if you don't, you can go into public service, marketing, sales, or some other business discipline. or go to law school. The reason why the psych program is a popular one is b/c you can use it as a foundation in almost any field.

You'll have to get a Masters and quite possibly a PHd if you want to be a psychologist, however with a BS I believe you can go into social work, studying to be a social worker.

You could work at a mental health agency as a case manager. I used to do that before I went back to grad. school.
Also, you could do residential... always hiring.
You could be a research assistant if that is your interest.

Be a lab assistant or a teaching assistant. I had a friend that discovered after getting her BS that she needed to have a Masters or better to do more.

You could continue with school to become a psychologist. Or you could, right now, apply as an assistant.
