i.e 18 wheelers (just curious because I drive one, and would like to know what I can do to better myself as a professional driver)

Most people don't like them because they have an innate fear of such a large vehicle. But by and large, I find that truck drivers are professional and courteous. There are a few bad apples out there, but most of them are simply wary of 'four-wheelers' who apparently don't realize that an 80,000-lb. vehicle needs more space to accelerate, stop and turn.
No, I don't drive a truck, but I try to give them a wide berth, and don't tailgate, cut them off, or linger alongside them.

Your premise is flawed. Most people don't pay attention to truck drivers, much less dislike them.
Most people dislike trucks blocking their view of traffic, I suppose. But I don't think the drivers of the trucks have anything to do with that dislike.
