Japanese are not racist against black people... Clacks can move to Japan in the same way as everyone else can... and, all religion is free. You are free to choose what you want to follow. But, keep in mind, Christianity is the only true religion.

everybody is racist to some degree. But as far as Japan the nation goes, remember that Japan has a particular slant on nationalism we don't encounter much in the U.S. Their nationalism is based upon whether you are Japanese or not. Some people call it Xenophobia, but it's just a rigidified way of determining an in-crowd versus an out-crowd. Rather than simply being racist, many native Japanese distinguish between natives and "gaijin" or outsiders/barbarians.

It's a very openly rigid social structure. Anyone can move about freely in Japan, but all people judge each other based upon superficial features (skin color, bodily features, gender), so a black person definitely sticks out in the crowd in Japan.

Religion is a hard one, since younger generations don't practice religion like older generations. Shinto is the main "religion" Japanese are known for, but there are many religions present in Japan, just like in the U.S. or any other country, including judeo-christian religions.

ps. it's a fallacy to say that there is only one "true" religion.

Everybody is racist towards certain groups of people, In the Japanese case, there are certain stereotypes that affect their actions towards any non-japanese/Asian-Oriental. Just like how an American acts strangely in a presence of a foreigner, It's simply human nature...
the japanese immigration system is equally discrimminant towards any foreigners, not just blacks...

Well, in the past, there were restrictions on religion. But that was during Tokugawa Ieyasu's reign, which was...quite a while ago...As of present, there is free religion in Japan.

Where did u get the fact that teh japanese people are racist towards Black People? If anywhere thats racist towards black people its America, no where else was a segregation of people. I dont think the Japanese people really care what religion you are unless you start bothering them about it, they will just carry on with their own lives, they wont go ridcule people of other religions just for fun, unlike America.

I would bet you 100 yen that Japan is not as racist as the United States. I don't mean the government or White people, I mean people in general who you would come in contact with. Christianity is the way to go; the only true God, truth, life. I think you should go over there and live for a few weeks and then decide if you would like to live there more than live in the U.S.
