no no and NO! I barely have any brand name clothes and they are all stylish. They can be the same style, colors etc as brand name stuff and look just as good!!! I love walmart and Winners. Trust me, I cant afford expensive brand name stuff either and it doesnt make you any less of a person

The first thing is to not be a fashion victim... Look at Paris Hilton... oh my gosh horrible! Find what you like and what you find comfortable, and stick with it... Lets face it, the large 80s sunglasses are back, the 70s "retro" styles came back... It all gets recycled when the retailers run out of ideas.

To answer your question, if you feel you need to shop at Abercrombie, Hollister ect, then you may be suckered into media crap... Those von dutch trucker caps (another ugly 80s throw over) are a prime example. If you stride to stay up with the fashions all the time, you'll spend alot of money. If that is what you want go ahead and do it, but you can stay stylish buying clothes at Ross, JC Penny, Target, Marshall's ect. Because guess where alot of the excess clothes from other stores such as Dillards and Hollister go?

I think that being "in style" simply means, wearing the latest fashion styles and keeping up with whatever look is in for the season. Wearing name brand, designer, or more expensive clothes does not make you more fashionable than someone who may be wearing the same or similar designed clothing at a less expensive price. If you read Glamor Magazine, they will give good comparison shopping prices for designer clothes and where you can get similar styles for a cheaper prices ( and they surprisingly look just alike, for the most part ). I believe that it is the person who make the clothes what they are. It is all on how you wear them.

It's all in the style and the shape...(Look you can put expensive **** on an ugly body that is two sizes too small and it ain't gonna matter what brand it is) gonna look ugly...People need to stop fooling themselves......(Don't come to me in the mall cause I will tell you the truth).
"does this color look good on me"..........Hell No..lady
"does this fit?" yes.........on someone else.....Look you cant tell in that mirror?

it's all in the fit and not the brand.

You can find cute things at JC Penny, target- and other non-expensive places. Get basic colors, trends don't stay in that long to spend the kind of money they want. You can buy accessories to build up the basic. (Belts, scarves, jewelry)
Sale times are (July by the way) stores don't have any major holiday to do sales on and they want to push their summer out to get fall in.
(by the way.........people wanted honesty....I was maybe not that blunt as I described in the above caption.......it's only what I thought)
Don't put yourself through the "band" thing..do what you can afford and make the accessories work with it. YOU WILL BE AMAZED...

Of course not, some of the best outfits I have put on were not name brand and received some of the greatest compliments. However, I have learn this when I was working at Abercrombie & Fitch, every piece of clothing that is in there eventually goes on sell. so if you don't want to pay $86 for a pair of Chinos (some of my fav. pair of pants) then wait about a month and you will see them on sell for $29-$15. and they come with the same warranty as the regular priced items. Always look close to the registers and against the walls for sell items in all the stores you would like to shop at.

I am a shopaholic and i spend tons of money on non name brand clothes cause those are the best deals you can get, But sometimes i buy the name brand clothes only if there on sale. I also get hand me downs and try to put some extra designs on it to make it my own. You shouldnt worry about what type of clothes you wear its how you wear it. Its not important wear you you got it either. In my school there is alot of competition in the school with other people. As long as i have clothes on i am fine.

I don't believe in brand names nor would it mean that I am in style because they carry a trademark. Clothes should suit the occasion, the climate you are in, the age of the wearer and last but not least comforts of the wearer. Other people they just buy clothes and follow trends and fashion without taking into consideration if the clothes look good in them, or it the clothes suits their age. Imagine 50 years old wearing a plunging neckline showing off her wrinkle if not sagging assets...hahaha..

Brand name clothes are mostly for people with far more money than creativity. Create your own look by purchasing pieces that you like and blending them together. Where you buy them is of no import. It is even possible to find nice clothes at resale shops and consignment stores. If you simply have to have a name brand piece or two, resale and consignment is where to find them at a price you might be able to afford.

Absolutely not. Style is more about how you wear something rather than what you're wearing. As long as you carry yourself with confidence and wear clothes that fit (not 'comfort zone' clothes like sweats, pjs, etc.); clothes with structure that look good on you, you should be confident enough to carry the clothes without needing a name brand label. If you only feel confident in name brand clothes, than you've got bigger issues than your style.

Old Navy has good clothes.Mall stores do to. so if you dont like saying "I just got this from Old Navy or J.C. Penny" Flaunt that you got a cute outfit cheap! tell people "This Necklace was ten bucks and its sooo cute" they will wanna shop there a lot more. Nobody wants to buy somthing thats like $82.00 when another store sells the same thing for like $15.00
