Where IS the fuel filter on a 1997 Mazda MPV

one of 2 places along the rail with the fuel line or on the passenger side fender well may even be by the carb if u go to get a new one most places will show u or tell ya so u will know k

Most likely, underneath the car, very close to the gas tank. However, some of the Japanese makes have a fuel filter in the engine compartment...just follow the fuel line from where it enters the engine compartment to the top of the motor, if it's in there, you will see it before it reaches the top.

Filters can be located at any point between the fuel tank and the engine fuel rail. The most common placement is mounted on the underside frame rail between the fuel tank and engine. Follow your fuel line from the tank forward and you should see the filter.

They are starting to put fuel filters inside the tank now as part of the pump module on late model cars. You have to remove the entire module to replace the filter. Jules, Automotive lecturer. Australia.
