How did people cut their hair in ancient times? Have any special tools been found by archeologists?

hmm, which ancient times and what locations of these ancient sites?

Scissors have been found dated back pretty far. All scissors are are two knives put together in a fulcrum. That would suggesst someone with engineering knowledge developed it. Which sounds amazingly like the Romans, and we all know the Romans were famous for adopting a cultures benefits and calling it their own.

Before that, marvelous idea of fulcrummed scissors, I would think knives of all sorts were used. Sharped "things" that alowed one to cut hair like rope. or even early razors in the form of shells and other fine instruments that would not cut the skin.

Before the idea of groomly dress and appearance to impress I don't think many people worried about it.

I should think very carefully depending on what u mean by ancient time I Guess in stone age times using a flint knife ,many flint knives have been found by archeologists but I think they were just a general purpose tool used 2 skin and cut up animals 2 eat maybe people just did not bother with looking cool and just let it grow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depends on how far back you want to go.The Romans, at least back to a few hundred years BC shaved with razors and cut their hair with scissors.
Each of the Roman senators had a private barber. After the battle of the Totoburgenwald Augustus refused to shave or have his hair cut because of the shame of loosing so many to so few.

Ancient people used sharpened shells for hair removal. They also deliberatly pulled it out.

some used sharpened shells, some used obsidian knives and in places where they had metal they used knives and razors.
