i'm a young man with anxiety and ocd issues(on meds and had sessions with psychologist).i have quite a few ocd obsessions and compulsions under control(anxiety too).the problem is that i find it very difficult to work or perform tasks when people are looking at me(i sort of freeze).i sometimes feel like running away(when i am walking in a quiet or not so busy area) when a person(s) glances or looks at me-i have a sort of adrenaline surge and sort of jerk(as if there is danger).i know it is irrational but it has become like a reflex action(second nature)-very embarrasing in public.when people enter rooms or just pass by(rooms that i am in)i feel like taking off.i actually run (jerk) as i mentioned earlier.i have been forced to stop work because it was impossible to cope.people always judge me negatively.therapist told me it is social anxiety.has anyone heard or experienced such things.?thanking you all in advance.

I agree with the rest, but...
Have you tried exercising social abilities? I have something similar to you, but not that extreme (not anymore). I usually fear bystanders, people staring or even those crossing by, but I believe it all depends on simple communication skills such as saying "hello", "good morning" or "good by". Seems too simple, but my guess is your fears depend on your inability to handle this little things. People judge you negatively because you are unfathomable. That gives everyone the creeps. So if YOU say hello first, they can at least find you "not dangerous" which will relieve your tension. If the words don't come out, try again.

you need to find a job like in an assembly line or factory or get on the internet and research jobs to find your niche where you can work without having alot of contact with people like along time ago, being a shepard was an awesome job for someone with your issues, we all have our problems and some are big ,some are small, the key is how do you use them or exploit them to your advantage, good luck my friend

I'm not qualified enough to tell you what it is exactly.....but i think that ur condition could be considered as a mild form of agoraphobia.....
see into it, and you might find something that might help you...ask your psychologist, for he/she will definitely know what this is and how to deal with it in order to eradicate the symptoms....Good luck

I use to fear talking in public... but I had to learn that it's a fact of life and if people judged me... then so be it. They don't know me personally so WHO cares. Listen to your therapist and do everything he says and things will get better for you. Best of luck.

It's more common than you might think. Keep getting professional help and don't feel alone.

it sounds like you have spider senses, like spider-man.you can sense danger and have instincts to react. cool. stay on your meds, please. ask your boss for a cubicle in a far off corner so no one can see you, or in the basement, like on "office space". that would be fun
