as a journalist, I think you would benefit from anthropology.
psychology may teach you how the mind works,
but anthropology will teach you how humanity works.
anthropology is broad, and there are four parts:
-physical - the study of bones, morphology, forensics, genetics
-cultural- all that national geographic type stuff
-archaeology- study of past cultures through artifacts
-linguist- language stuff
it really is fascinating.

Ok, well Anthropology looks at group and societal behaviour, usually outside of America or Western Europe.

Psychology attempts to give scientific explanations for individual actions. However there is a also social psychology that falls between the two.

The biggest difference being that psychology will be based more on studies carried out in the US, where as Anthropology is likely to be based on studies carried out on tribal people.

Hope that help a little?

Well, Psychology deals with the development of human mind, brain and behaviour.

On the other hand, Anthropology has a much broader spectrum. It studies man in all it's manifestations i.e evolution, society, art, culture etc. Basically, it tries to answer questions like where do we come from? How do we evolve to the present form? Why do we behave in a particular way? It tries to integrate the knowledge of many disciplines like history, archaeology, psychology, biology, genetics, medical science etc. and gives a holistic view to the study of mankind.

Generally speaking, Anthropology is the study of human culture and/or evolution. This explanation really doesn't do justice since the field is so broad and touches other areas as well. Psychology is the study of the mind specifically.

Anthropology is the study of groups - either via culture ( cultural anthropology) or via artifacts and tools ( physical anthropology ).

Psychology is a lot of guess work about individuals and how they relate to their society.

Anthropology is a science
Psychology is mumbo jumbo.

Let me see if I give a good answer. Anthropology consists of the study of humanity with 2 senses. It is mainly concerned with all humans at all times and their cultural relativity. Whereas, Psychology is the STUDY of the human mind, brain and behavior.
