first things should be cold air intake (ice man), full cat back exhaust and dont cheap on on just a muffler (cause it wont do it anything), headers (4-1 if there legal for you but 4-2-1 is legal everywhere) and then some pulleys (distributes the power evenly...very nice)...and maybe after all that a chip (kicks in vtec a little lower but try not to over rev the enigne unless your boring it or going to do internals

Hi there!
Everyone else seems to be focusing on the power mods, but I would recommend replacing the shocks and springs (lowering)...this dramatically improves the handling, as well as making it look a bit more clean. I had a 97 Integra GS (non VTEC) and it was fast enough for me. I did most of my mods with handling....it is amazing how much better it felt with that one mod. That should only cost you about 400 bucks for the parts, but the labor can be high. If you have some money left over after that, then get some good performance tires. Personally, I would not do a cold air intake. They do not give you that much more horsepower, and are not good for your engine. They can suck up dirt, dust, water etc...into the engine due to their location in the engine bay. Eibach makes a good lowering spring kit for the Integras, and I paired those with some Tokico gas shocks. Good stuff! Have fun!!!

High-flow air filter (like a K&N or Fram Airhog) - 30-60 bucks.
Or, a complete cold-air intake - 120-250 bucks.
Cat-back exhaust -200 bucks and up, plus installation.

None of these will produce a horsepower improvement that you are going to notice (10 hp, at the very most), but the cold-air setup will change the engine sound a bit, in that it will produce more air intake noise, which some people like. A cat-back will definitely change the exhaust note. Intake and exhaust mods are always good starting points.

First, do a cold air only if you live somewhere that it doesn't rain a lot. Too much moisture is bad. Otherwise, go with a ram air. Then a cat back exhaust. Then you should get a ceramic DC header. That's your best bet on a budget. Beware of cheap stuff on ebay, you get what you pay for. Try Team Integra.net. You will find it useful.

www.team-integra.net for all your integra information

Intake/Header/Exhaust are the first things to start with

Intake best for your money is a CAI (Cold air intake)..cheapest is a SRI(short ram intake)
best for performance is a comptech icebox..but those are like 400 bux. CAI is the best way to go that is good for performance. I just put an AEM on my 98 ls.

well, being that you want "not too expensive", i'd say a c/a intake. the performance is mediocre, but the sound is nice.

IMO, if you want to spend maybe more, i'd get some 17's and good tires. that will help you utilize the power you already have.

Upgrading the brakes is a good thing too. not too much of a 'wow' factor, but it is money well spent. just some slottled rotors and hi-perf. pads.

whats expensive to you? under $500? if so i say get a hk exhaust system from the cat-back. that will add about 15-25 hp to the wheels. you will have enough or just over to get a cold air intake. if you don't want to go that way, i say get a good set of coil-overs and lower your car

you can do the performance by adding cold air intake and performance filters. you can also beef up the audio by getting subwoofers and amps installed in the car. I reccomend you going for the performance first unless you would like to show off the sound system.

trade it in for a faster car. Preferably a stock 300hp Mustang GT is a good start
