I would have to go with both. Medieval romance had more passion and recklessness. And if either partner was cheating you moved on and kept the family together. Modern romance seems to have more downs than ups and people want to give up before even trying and that is just wrong. Cheating isn't right and very selfish.

Let's see. Medieval romances typically lasted one's entire lifetime, which is good, but that was only on average 'til age 28, which is bad. Modern romance is about staying until it doesn't work for both people, which makes sense, but that's in a media-driven world wherein your opinion changes twice a minute. That's bad. What was the question again?

Wasn't medieval romance more about what is unobtainable? Women trapped in loveless marriages? Chastity? Husbands sleeping with maids? Wait a minute...it sounds a lot like 2006...I think the difference is dresses.

Medieval romance. Marriages were set up with the male being dominant and the female submissive. Those two opposites make for more romance. There is no spark when there is no difference in the male and the female. Our culture has robbed us of that.

I would have to say medieval romance, because men really took care of their wives/families, I mean, women really did have a lot to do around the house, but hey, their man went out and made all the money, brought home all the food, sure women may have had to put up with weather she wanted it or not, and had to deal with a man that litterally smelled of pooh, because hey they did'nt bathe regularly, AND of course, women were more property that partner, but hey at least you knew who had the in the relationship! Not like now when married people gave up just like that, and dont try to work things out, and get married just for the hell of it...and does'nt really mean anything to anybody anymore because everybody pretty much so does it with anybody....

If you are talking about romance novels, medieval is better. If you are talking about real life, now is better. Back then you were placed in a marriage for convience, money etc. You didn't pick who you were going to spend the rest of you life with. Nowadays you marry for love.

Probably a modern romance is "more better", seeing as how we are living in the here and now.
