Because hopefully we as a people have matured and can now accept people for who they are not their sexual preferences so the gay community can now walk the streets without fear of being hung, drawn and quartered. Probably there are a similar amount as there has ever been but now u can be openly gay [as u should be able 2 ]

The percentage has remained pretty much the same. Gays and lesbian have been around for ages; it's just easier for them to be public about it now.

Says who? It depends where you are living in... In my world, there are far more Muslim people and not a single lesbians and gays in sight.

It's not that there's MORE persay, just that it's more acceptable than it used to be, so they are more comfortable with being public about it. You are more aware of it today than people were years ago because they no longer fear for their lives. Also, some people who claim they are gay, aren't really. They just are for attention. I knew this one girl who claimed she was bi because she wanted attention. That's just the kind of person she is.

When given the most basic choice people mess that up. Homosexuality is wrong! How can 1 man look at another man and think hmmmmmmmmmm. Give me a break!

Its impossible to be gay, its just a phase of insanity that is contagious from one person to another. Gay people will never experience real, true love, and their lives only be full of hate and misery.

Probably the same percentage as there has always been, just more people in general and more social acceptance.
