Children learn by repetition. Just have her repeat after you. Spend time with her. Somethings they learn on their own. Like they don't really know what hot means until they touch the fire, then when you say hot for them it's like OH now I know what you are saying when you say hot hot. There are all kinds of games you can play with them to teach ABC's, numbers and colors. Just have fun with her.

That is a nice question...................
Use (Pop-up ABC, 123, etc.) books with your sister to ask and answer questions.
Your little sister's expanding "wh" verbal skills (who?, what?, where?, why?) provide many opportunities to use books to help kids ask and answer questions.
While reading books to her, ask questions that help her practice the new things she's learning ("what does the cow say?"), learn about cause and effect ("what will happen?"), and develop sorting and organizing skills.
Comment on things that happen around your lil sis, throughout the day.
Older siblings can help toddlers process their "wh" experience (who?, what?, where?, why?) by commenting on situations around them: "I wonder who lives there?," "what does that sign tell us we have to do?," "where's the milk for breakfast?," "why is this wet?."
Use crayons, markers and pencils with her, and have fun............

By loving her unconditionally and keeping her safe!
Enter into her world. Get down physically at her level, see her world as she sees it.
I used to keep all of my son's toys in a small laundry basket. Every day we'd dump out the toys together and I would name them as I put them back into the basket. If he motioned toward the object, I'd ask him, "Joseph, do you want the cup?"
Talk to your sister as if she can understand you, even if YOU think she can't.
It sounds like your sister is lucky to have her in your life.

Everyone had a good idea, but remember, she is one. They can only learn so much. Its great that you want her to be smart, but remember to make it fun for her and yourself without making it too stressful for her.
Have fun
