my neice has a baby with cleft palate and she just used a regular nipple but made the hole a little bigger so he would not have to suck. he just got his palate fixed about a month ago and now he is on a sippy cup with a long nipple and they made the hole larger until he heals.

Since they have a hard time sucking because of the cleft I would go with one that causes less air intake such as Playtex or Dr. ?? (cannot remember his name) then the baby would not have 2 things working against him/her.

We use a Haverman, or Haberman (can't remember the spelling) feeding system at our hospital. The hospital should be able to provide information on what to use. Of it's a larger hospital, the neonatology department should be able to help.

It is just trial and error and somehow you get there. Try a lambs teat if you can get one
