I just ordered a Dell E1505 with the default settings. It comes with Genuine Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Does that have software like Word, Excel, Internet Explorer in it?

It will have Internet Explorer, but not Word/Excel unless you paid extra for Microsoft Office.

Windows comes with Internet Explorer. Unless it also comes with Microsoft Office, you will not get Word or Excel. It may come with Works which has a watered down version of Word and Excel.

The software that comes with the computer should be listed on the order sheet somewhere. As a rule of thumb, it is usually a good idea to know exactly what you are ordering when you place the order. That is how you get ripped off.

No it does not come with Office. You have to buy your own. Genuine Windows Xp mean that the Operate System is not a pirate software. It's has nothing to do with word or excel. But you do get the Internet Explorer for free.

According to Dell's website Dell E1505 specs it does NOT come with Office.

It comes with Corel's WordPerfect ONLY

A VERY good and FREE substitute for MS OFFICE is Open Office by Sun.

It has MS OFFICE compatible programs for WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, etc....

No, it comes separate unless it comes in the package.

I just ordered a Dell computer and it was extra to add Microsoft Office.

explorer, probably... the office software would have to be added as an option or purchased separately.
