Human nature, plain and simple. Gay is a word and from that word conjures up all sorts of wild thoughts of gays having orgies. I know I have been in the presence of many conversations that are directed at gays. I also think that heterosexuals are curious, about the why and the how could someone be with the same sex person. Society has the upper hand on the social acceptance of a couple. We are brought up in a society that determines what is acceptable behavior and what is not. Gay is not acceptable, however, it is becoming more and more accepted in certain aspects of society. With education and association, our path of being taken seriously will eventually be made easier for those that follow

For me I was raised to believe it is wrong and homosexuality is a spirit from the Devil. I'm not going to bash you or say hey change your ways and God will love your or something. Most of what I know about homosexulatiy is or a porno somewhere. That's most likley the case with all heteros, some see it as an outlet to watch others just think you guys have sex with the same sex why on earth would you do that. To me a guy and a guy thats 2 dudes hanging out, theres nothing to guess or figure out becasue your both dudes you know how you think. Woman to man thats our challege becasue men and women are fundamentally differnet. So the attraction is obvious, with gay people it seems purley sexual becasue thats all we know. So I ask to get enlighted a little. I don't agree with bashing or trying to change folks.

Well that is an uneccessarily general question. I dont bash, or change homosexual girls/guys. I accept them for who they are, and the only reason I would ever question them is because I am curious of HOW they got where they are in their sexuallity.
And people who bash or try to change homosexuals are either uncomfortable with homosexuals, themselves, or the idea.

Because they are truly afraid of their own sexuality, and at one time or the other they have dreamed about it, so in order for society to not have a clue about them, the lash out negatively on the subject. Idiots, simply idiots! If they would only come out ,don't they know that then homosexuality wouldn't be the minority, but majority, because I know that there are a whole lot of UNDER COVER BROTHERS AND SISTERS out there right now, and should either shut-up or put-up!

I don't hate or bash or try to change anyone, and I'm straight(kinda/sorta)
I don't know about anyone else but I know I'm inquisitive about homosexuals, because I have gay friends, and it doesn't hurt that two guys together is *hot*.
Anyway, that's my reason why.

i'm a straight dude. i know exactly what you mean. it's different for different people. with some- it's the whole religion thing. they think that they're their god's own special warrior/messenger. so they take it upon themselves to go out and try to take down things that their god's "teachings" go against... and for some, one of those things may be homosexuals. with others- i think that they secretly fear you guys. they're intimidated. the whole "gay" thing just freaks them out. they want absolutely nothing to do with it. they don't want to hear about it, they don't want to see, they don't even want to know that it exists. so they also go around trying to single-handedly smother it out. and then you have the "straight" people in denial. they have homosexual tendencies or maybe they even had some experiences and it frightened them. they think the worst thing in the world to be is gay. so what helps suppress/hide their homosexual feelings?- gay bashing and making jokes at you guys' expense. that's just what i think.

I think it's human nature to find the "taboo" fascinating no matter how horrible or unthinkable we may find it. Kinda like a bad train wreck. You can't help but look and wonder. And why change what you can't "fix". We don't need to be fixed.

insecurity.... they cannot cope with the idea that you have a different sexual interest, they have been made to believe it's some type of illness and they are afraid to catch it, therefore, they want to change you or make you feel bad.

You might as well ask why do people rubberneck as they drive past traffic accidents?
If it is out of the ordinary to you, you will be intrigued.
