This is all I know,Not ALL Americans are obsesed with looks.
But some of them are,especially girls!Even though I'm a girl,
I gues that's what girls do.Like guys are guys and girls are girls.
So I guess,they aren't THAT obsessed,you know what I mean?
Like I guess but comon,WE'RE GIRLS!That's what they do!
Anyways,that's just my opinion~~

Because we lead the world in superficial entertainment, from unrealistic love stories, to outrageous action films. The sad thing is, is that our media sets the tone of our culture, the more we buy it, the more they sell it. It's a never ending cycle. Example, I love to lift weights and over the past 15 years that I have lifted weights I have gained a lot of muscle mass. I got a job as a part time bouncer. Working at the club I would get to know people that would come in on a regular, they were shocked when I told them I went to school for electronic engineering, and that I was a telecommunications engineer, and I hated watching foot ball and basket ball. It seem to me as though they saw me as some meat head jock, nothing more. Just because I was muscular then I had to act a certain way. Our culture facilitates stereo types on every level. Because we let our culture do it, never try to better our selves mentally because we become content with who we are because the media tells us that if we look a certain way then we need to act a certain way, it's really frustrating if you sit down and think about it.

i dont no y all of america is obsessed wit looks but i no dat i like to look good and if i look good i feel good so dat might be a reason y america is obsessed wit looks.

Not all of America is. But some people are shallow. VERY shallow. Like so shallow you'd hit the surface and the bottom at the same time.

People just get so caught up in the whole celebrity world! I mean... there is nothing wrong with looking good, but you shouldn't treat someone badly if they are the most beautiful thing on this earth!! RIGHT?

We're just naturally pretty.

cause we have some men in this world that only care about big boobs fat buts and pencil thin bodies.Not all men are like this but most alsomany women and men do things to themself b/c they know what the oppisite sex likes and they do it to make themselfs feel better
