I have a friend. and her name is caitlin. she seriously wants a nickname. Personally, I think that her name is fine right now, but nothing I say will convince her. wut do you think. She is slightly obsessed with finding a nickname and I don't want to seem unsuportave. Just yesterday, she was telling me that if I didn't call her libby, she wouldn't answer me. And then we got into this fight about it. Now she wants to use a nickname for her middle name which is danielle. I think she is taking this over the top. Please help! I don't no wut I should do!!!

Has she considered Kat or Lin or even lina (Leena). If most of your friends have nicknames she may feel that she isn't fitting in if she doesn't have one. I take it you are both young and this may be something that will pass quickly. Humer her and call her by a nickname , but remind her that most people don't get to pick their own nicknames so she will have to accept what ever people decide to call her. That may change her mind on wanting one.

Catie, Cate. Danni for Danielle (pronounced like the male nickname for Daniel "Danny"). But call her Libby if that's what she chooses, it's not worth losing a friend over not calling her the right name. Good luck. :)

your friend is being a freak!! you need to tell her that she is taking this way too seriously! tell her that when the right nickname comes along you will find it. you have to find a nickname that fits that person and not just some random thing. it has to be unique for that person. explain this to her.
