Water weighs just above 6 pounds per gallon. Your pool holds approximately 618 cu. ft. of water which will hold about 900 gallons or around 3 tons plus the weight of the pool itself and the people in it. Although the weight is distributed across an area of around 177 sq. ft that still a lot of weight to place above your basement. And if it should start leaking you'll have one huge mess to clean up.

Good Luck!!!

sure, we put in a 15x20x52 oval pool final summer season. easily one end is buried approximately 2 one million/2 ft and the different end is purely approximately 8 inches. purely that little bit has made it sturdier. you are able to leap off the deck in the situation and it would not shake or waiver one bit. it particularly is totally intense-high quality and easily well worth it in spite of the indisputable fact that it became VERY no longer trouble-free artwork. We dug the full situation ourselves so we would desire to shop the money we would have spent renting a backhoe.

The water will weigh approximately 39,500 pounds. This does not include the weight of the pool structure.

Most likely...why are you putting a pool over your basement anyway?

not likely, the weight is directed down, not sideways, but I would not put it close, it might leak and flood the basement.
