I recently bought a slimline ps2, and would like to play games online with it, but don't know how to get started. I found out that the slimline ps2 has a network adapter/capabilty built in or something like that, and i have the network disc i got when i registered my slimline ps2 online. I have bt broadband, a bt router, wireless bt broadband on 1 computer and 1 laptop. someone suggested the easiest way, was something about a pc writer/rider( not sure how this is spelt)and a rj42 cable i think, you can buy in pc world, i don't know what i am looking for or what or how to get online. i preferably don't want to have to be near the computer, connect to it, cos it is in a different room to my ps2, and i want it to be easy to get started, 1st time ps2 slimline user, who knows nothing about how to start online gaming with it, need lots of help in detailed easy instructions please? thanks! i'm in Uk.

if u have got a wireless BT voyager router u can always connect ur ps2 to it provided u have got a wireless adapter on it; or better use an ethernet cable to connect it;
before u connect it u need to setup the router; to do it
goto 192.168.1.1 in ur web browser on ur pc that is connected to the router.
u will get the router manager , click on advanced on the left hand side;
then click on advanced in the middle;
then click on virtual server on the left hand side;
u wil be asked for username and password; type in both as "admin"
u will have an option " forwarded to the DMZ host" select that and in the box type in 192.168.1.35 and click on the apply button;
u can then connect the ethernet cable and in the LAN properties of the ps2 force the ip 192.168.1.35 in the tcp/ip settings
this should work fine

Connect your PS2 to your router using a straightthrough CAT5 ethernet cable, (RJ45 socketed), and then insert your Central Station disc and follow the on-screen prompts, if you are with BT Yahoo! Broadband, then you won't have to fiddle about with theIP addresses or anything, as the PS2 will be able to auto-detect your configurations.

Once you have entered all of your details in, your account will be temporarily activated for any 1st party games, (3rd party games don't require a CS account), about a week later you will receive a letter from Sony containing a code that will make your account permanent.

I'm not so sure about all of the PS2 settings, or about the UK, but I do know that you need an Ethernet cable (network cable, rj42, all the same thing) then you need to plug it into you router and setup your network settings with that disc you have. after that, you should be all set.

if you want to go wireless, get an ethernet wireless game adaptor. mine's a Linksys, and it works great. Link below...

No, positioned one end of the Ethernet cable on your ps2, one end too your modem, Now, No you do no longer choose a community get admission to disc, you could basically use a ps2 game with on line to create the settings, basically attempt to play on line then it is going to say you haven't any settings, then it is going to inform you to create some
